The Subaru Forester is powered by a 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder engine that generates 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. It achieves an EPA-estimated 29 MPG combined (26 city/33 highway) with 17-inch and 18-inch wheels or 28 MPG (25 city/32 highway) with 19-inch wheels. The adventure-ready Wilderness trim has an EPA rating of 26 MPG (25 city/28 highway).¹

The Subaru Forester Hybrid augments the standard engine with an electric motor, boosting performance to 194 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque. It also improves fuel economy, achieving an EPA-rated 35 MPG combined (35 city/34 highway).¹

The Forester and Forester Hybrid can both tow up to 1,500 pounds. However, the Wilderness trim (gas-only) increases that rating to 3,000 pounds.

Interior

The Subaru Forester and Forester Hybrid both offer an open and accommodating cabin that's a nice place to pass the miles.
